head-tech-cathy-cvtCathy has been working at Kingston Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Technician since 1998, and as the Head Technician since 2006. She graduated from Mount Ida College in 1999 with an Associate in Arts and Bachelor of Science, both in Veterinary Technology. The most rewarding part of her job as Head Technician is leading a team of talented and compassionate support staff through the daily challenges of veterinary medicine, and watching them and the practice succeed.

Outside of work, Cathy enjoys trail riding her pony in Myles Standish, traveling with her husband, and attending Dave Matthews Band shows around the country. She and her husband share their home with their dog Liza, two cats Sansa and Tyrion, and two horses Graham and Lurch.

vet-tech-jessica-cvt-cat-meepsJessica originally joined us in 2006 as a Veterinary Technician intern, staying on as a Veterinary Technician for two years after her internship was over. She spent the next 10 years gaining invaluable medical and supervisory experience at several hospitals in the greater Boston area and Ireland. In September of 2016, she rejoined Kingston Animal Hospital, and we couldn’t be happier!

Jessica is a Mount Ida College graduate with a Bachelor of Science in veterinary technology. The most rewarding part of her job is when clients recognize all the hard work we put into their pets, and kittens! When she’s not at work, Jessica enjoys hanging with her husband and daughter Aoibhinn, spending time with her friends, and running. She has two cats, Meeps and Cheese, and a dog named Spud.

vet-asst-todd-dog-spudTodd joined Kingston Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant in 2008 after being a long-time client. His favorite part about working at KAH is having the opportunity to care for animals, both sick and well, and being there for clients.

Outside of work, Todd enjoys spending time with his family, following sports (Go Sox!), and writing short stories. He and his family share their home with three dogs: Jewel, a 12-year-old Boston Terrier, Jade a 5-year-old Black Lab, and Blu, a 4-year-old Pit Bull mix, as well as two cats, Faith and Wilma, and a Parrot named Scooter who is 26 years old!

vet-tech-jessica-sheehanJessica worked at Kingston Animal Hospital for a short period in 2012. She missed us so much that she returned in January of 2017! She has 13 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician and Supervisor, primarily in feline-only practices on the South Shore. Jessica is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Science Program at Penn Foster. She plans to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam and become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).

The most rewarding part of Jessica’s job is seeing the dedication of pet owners who view their pets as part of the family, and returning a sick pet who is now well back to their loving family. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys reading, taking piano lessons, and watching movies. She is a huge New England Patriots fan and loves watching the games with her husband, Jon. She has two cats, Minnie, a 14-year-old tuxedo, and Monkey, a 7-year-old black medium hair.

vet-tech-judi-foote-dogJudi has been a part of our team since 1998. She has many decades of experience in animal health, having owned her own dog grooming business for 45 years and being a breeder of Airedale Terriers for 40 years. Judi is a frequent attendee of continuing education classes and seminars on veterinary medical topics. The most rewarding part of her job is helping animals.

Outside of work, Judi is a co-leader of the Horsing Around 4-H Club. She also enjoys attending Dave Matthews Band concerts with her co-worker Cathy, and being a member of the Airedale Terrier Club of New England and the “unofficial” KAH Book Club. She shares her home with several Airedales, one cat, and two guinea pigs.

Vet Tech Lisa CooperLisa started working at Kingston Animal Hospital in 2012. She came to us with over 20 years of experience as owner of a pet sitting business, working as a veterinary technician, and as a hospital manager. She has a Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts, is certified in Business Management, and is a frequent attendee of continuing education meetings on animal science. The best part of her job at KAH is working with and educating pet owners and making furry family members feel better.

When she is not working. Lisa enjoys spending time with her mom, going to country music clubs, and gardening. She and her husband share their home with one 14 ½ year old shih-tzu named Dolly, and Pita, her “black panther catdog.”

Sue joined our team in August 2016. Sue has worked as a Veterinary Technician since 2001. Sue holds a Bachelor of Science in Math and Biochemistry. The most rewarding part of her job is seeing the integration of holistic and traditional western medicine help pets to get the best quality of life. She loves to see happy animals!

In her free time, Sue enjoys reading, volunteering at O’Neil Farm, and Goatscaping. She shares her home with three Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers Naranja, Fuego, and Jingle; two cats Arugula and Kale; two cows Acorn and Timone; three goats Gwen, McStuffins, and Aspen; and one miniature horse Cinderella.

vet-tech-nicole-dogNicole has been with Kingston Animal Hospital for 23 years. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Animal Science. Before coming to KAH, she worked at several other animal hospitals, including a stint at a Colorado veterinary hospital that included a wildlife sanctuary. The most rewarding parts of her job are working with a group of people that truly care for patients as if they were their own, the family atmosphere of KAH, and helping clients care for their pets, especially as each pet enters their senior years.

When she’s not busy at work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, camping, biking, hiking, and going to the beach. She has two cats, Penny and Smokey, and two Guinea Pigs, May and Friday.

Jenna has worked at Kingston Animal Hospital since 2015. She is a graduate of the Mount Ida College Veterinary Technology Program. Jenna also holds the titles of State Certified Animal Control Officer and AKC Certified CGC evaluator. In addition, she also holds certifications in Basic Dog Obedience through LeeRburg, and Advanced Dog Socialization through Pak 2 Basics.

When she’s not at work, Jenna enjoys watching movies and TV. She is an avid fan of the show Supernatural. She also enjoys the gun range, archery, dog training, pet photography, cryptozoology involving canids, and anything wolves. She has two cats, Little Girl and Luna, and a blue Beta fish named Saphira.

vet-asst-karenKaren has worked at Kingston Animal Hospital since 2002. Prior to joining our team, she attended Massasoit Community College’s Executive Secretarial program, and worked at a law firm, Cirelli Foods, then at a printing company. She followed up these positions by working at a kennel and another animal hospital on the South Shore, where she found her passion for working with animals. Interacting and caring for multiple species of animals are the most favorite parts of her job.

Karen’s hobbies include spending time with family, friends, and pets, painting furniture, and doing various crafts. She shares her home with four dogs (Cody, Lacey, and littermates Annie and Abby), five cats (Tucker, Lydia, Hewey, Lewey, and Dewey), and nine birds (Casper the cockatoo, Bailey and Miki the African Greys, and the cockatiels Punky, Salty, Taco, Woody, Chili, and Rocky).

vet-assist-tommianne-runnels-dogTommianne recently joined the Kingston Animal Hospital team in July of 2016. She is currently a senior in Mount Ida College’s Veterinary Technology Program. The most rewarding part of her job is seeing patients’ improvements at recheck appointments.

Tommianne enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and volunteering at feral cat clinics and at MSPCA Nevins Farm large animal barn. She owns a mini poodle named King and a beagle named Rascal.

Holly joined our team in the summer of 2016 as a veterinary technology student intern. She loved the work so much she became a permanent team member at the end of her internship. Holly is currently a student at Becker College. She will graduate in the spring of 2017 with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology, then continue on in the program for another year to obtain her Bachelor’s in Veterinary Science. She considers every part of being in the veterinary field rewarding, because every little task we do makes a world of difference to our patients. But the most rewarding aspect for her is being able to comfort both animals and people in their time of need, or maybe it’s all of the wet kisses we get as “thank you’s”!

Outside of work, Holly enjoys going to the gym, riding her longboard, and spending time snuggling with her pets. She owns a 14-year-old Bichon Frise named Snowball and four adorable cats, Fang, Sweet Pea, Nala, and her furbaby Speedy.

vet-assistant-vicki-alberti-dogVicki began working at Kingston Animal Hospital in 2014. She holds an Associate’s degree in Laboratory Animal Technology. Prior to joining the KAH team, Vicki spent several years working at various animal hospitals in the greater Boston area. She is also a Certified Medical Assistant. The most rewarding part of her job is interacting with pets of all species.

In her free time, Vicki enjoys farm life, trail riding her horses, open space conservation, and gardening. She shares her farm with Zora, a terrier mix, Inky, her barn cat, three goats, three horses, and four chickens.

pharmacy-tech-kristen-lyons-dogKristen joined the KAH team in 2005. The most rewarding part of her job is helping sick pets recover and providing advice and a listening ear to clients. “It’s amazing how grateful our clients can be even when it’s not the outcome they expected sometimes,” she says.

When she’s not at work, Kristen enjoys anything involving the outdoors. She has four cats, Phoebe, Little Man, Binx, and Monica, and two dogs, Jasmine and Kallie.

vet-tech-pharma-sheila-dog-declanSheila has been with the KAH team for 22 years working in our pharmacy and at our front desk helping pets and clients. She is a UMass Amherst graduate and a certified Pharmacy Technician. The most rewarding part of her job is working with her great co-workers and solving client problems.

When Sheila is not at work, she enjoys gardening, cooking, vacationing in Ireland, and participating in the Companion Animal Program, where she takes her German shepherd dog Declan to visit nursing home residents. She also has another German shepherd named Bridget.

receptionist-sue-nicholsSue has been with us since 1999. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s in Math Education. The most rewarding part of her job is seeing all the smiling faces and wagging tails.

In her spare time, Sue enjoys gardening, beekeeping, knitting, crochet, quilting, canning and dehydrating. She has three dogs, Loretta, Lola, and Lily, and eight cats, Alice, Chuck, Vladimir, Rebekah, Malachi, Hermione, Rebah, and Stanley.

BettyBetty began working at Kingston Animal Hospital in 2003. Prior to joining our team, she spent many years working for a law firm in Boston. The most rewarding part of her job is interacting with clients and their pets.

When she’s not busy at work, Betty enjoys spending time with her family, grandchildren, friends, and her dog Buddy.

 

Receptionist BellaBella started working at the KAH in the spring of 2017, after being one of our star high school interns throughout the school year. She plans on attending Mount Ida College in the fall to major in veterinary technology. The most rewarding parts of her job are interacting with all kinds of animals and knowing that we make a difference in their lives.

When she’s not at work, Bella enjoys going out with her friends, watching movies, and the Boston Red Sox. She shares her home with a Jack Russell named Lola, a Boxer named Mater, a cat named Jack, and a bearded dragon named Maurice.
